All Night, Every night

Listen to what this psalmist says...

"My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved.
He who keeps you will not slumber."
~Psalm 121: 2-3

I recall times when I really have so much to do or just can't help but think that staying up late or even all night to finish up what I need to do is the right thing to do. I actually got things done sometimes, but there are times that I became increasingly unproductive over time. The thought of staying up late or all night actually stems from my desire to get these things done.

But if I got the understanding of the above psalm right, the Lord actually stays up all night, every night! He never sleeps... He never takes a break... He never stops... That is, He never stops keeping us... Allow this thought to sink in for a moment... If our help comes from this person, and this person is the One who made heaven and earth, how awesome is this that we've got such help? And such help never stops? ... This is the ultimate help that anyone can ever have. Nothing is impossible!

Furthermore, the following Scripture has become one of the pillar verses of my life because God honestly and strikingly said...

"I will not turn away from doing good to them;
and I will put the fear of me in their hearts,
that they may not turn from me.
I will rejoice in doing them good.
...
with all my heart and all my soul."
~Jeremiah 32:40-41

Can you sense the burning passion of God's heartbeat and soul!? God actually said the words literally "all my heart and all my soul" ... Ponder that for a moment ...

This is one of the rarest sentences in the Bible that literally has those words said directly by God Himself.

No wonder He never sleeps, He never slumbers, He never takes a day off. He stays up all day and night to keep me and you! How astonishing is that fact! Too good to be true? ... No, they are the very words of the Living God who lives to "not turn away from doing good to [you], who "Rejoice in doing [you] good! ... With all His Heart with all His Soul!"

How wonderful! How marvelous! How beautiful! for...

"From of old,
no one has heard or perceived by the ear,
no eye has seen a God besides thee,
who works for those who wait for Him"
~Isaiah 64:4 (RSV)
