"There are 100 billions of galaxies in the universe.
That is more than the number of grains of sand on the beaches of the earth"
~History Channel
I was watching a lot of documentaries this holiday. Among which, one was about the solar system and in particular solar storms. There came a commercial break where the channel was advertising one of the upcoming documentary to be shown and the above statement stretched my imagination towards the unthinkable.
To think that earth is part of the solar system, the sun, the parent's star of the solar system that earth is part of, is one of the billions of stars in the Milky Way galaxy. And the Milky Way galaxy is one of the billions of galaxies in the observable universe.
I was once again awe-struck by the fact that all these are the very handiwork of masterful creation of God.
"When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,"
~Psalm 8:3
"By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth."
~Psalm 33:6
"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command,
so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."
~Hebrews 11:3
"but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe."
~Hebrews 1:2
I stand in awe of You, Lord Jesus, through whom all things came to be, in whom all things are sustained. Such brilliance, such majesty, such splendour, such magnificence, such wonder no one can comprehend and fathom!
You are God, the Creator God!
