"For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth."
~Psalm 103:11 (ESV)
"Long ago, the Lord said to Israel:
'I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.
With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.'"
~Jeremiah 31:3
As a Christian, I have gotten used to hearing such phrases and terms as highlighted. Much of the time they become 'accepted', 'acknowledged', ... taken for granted. Today, God sat together with me, as I was in ... not the nicest of places to say the least, in the toilet, while doing some basic human necessity. I made use of my time to read a chapter of "The Case For Christ" in my long-drawn campaign towards finishing the book. The chapter was about the medical evidence concerning the death of Jesus Christ through the entire sufferings He went through.
It was as if I travelled down the paths where Jesus traversed, visiting the sight, immersed in the excruciating pain of His entire journey toward His death on the cross. It was one moment where I revisited the meaning of the above phrases and terms that are all too familiar.
Little did I realise, little drops of tears welled up in my eyes and flowed through my cheeks.
Lord Jesus, you went through that for me. I can't say it enough. But,
thank you...
