Live and Die

"[Learning] to live so that I may learn to die"
~ Anthony Yeo, Counseling Pioneer, Singapore

There is something about this statement that demands reflection. This came from a man who has inspired lives in Singapore to help others especially homosexuals, divorced families, and single persons. This sentence seems to have an end in itself. Terminal as it sounds. It bids us to consider that eventually, it is true that we live and we die. We learn to live and learn to die.

But we know that death is not the end. There are better things that accompany faith. Salvation. The eternal communion with the Lord himself for those of us Christians. Beyond life on earth, the here and now, there is hope of eternity.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
~ Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
