Sin In Our Lives

Continuing on the meditation of yesterday, such a strong message that God is speaking to me these 2 days. Listen to these, would you...

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us...
If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar,
and his word is not in us.
~1 John 1:8, 10 (ESV)

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
~1 John 2:1-2 (ESV)

If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.
~1 John 5:16-17 (ESV)

Sin is evidently in our life! That is an undeniable fact!

None of us can say we have no sin for a single moment! When is it that we are able to say "we have no sin"? Think for a moment...

What?
a day?
an hour?
a minute?

Apostle John was addressing the heresy that you can 'be' righteous and 'not practise' righteousness as I pondered in yesterday's meditation. As we see in the above passages, he is emphatically saying that 'there is no such thing as sinlessness for any one of us'.

It certainly helps the false teachers if they can convince us of that we can 'be sinless'.

Brothers and sisters, for some, or many of us, including myself, it is likely that we may have been living in this heresy, that 'we are sinless'. We may not exactly say that or think that way. But it can be in the form of our presumptuous ignorance and comfort, thinking that we are alright.

Therefore, be watchful and always mindful that 'we are never sinless'. Remember that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 (ESV))

And be assured and assert this! "We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but He [Jesus] who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him." (1 John 5:18 (ESV))
